Q: Is a prescription required?
A: Yes. Just like your local pharmacy, we require a valid prescription from your physician licensed to practice in your state of residence. The prescription should be faxed along with your order form.

Q: How much medication can I buy?
A: Due to regulations we are able to ship a maximum of 3 months worth of medication for personal use. If your physician writes a prescription for more than 3 months supply, then we can fill those refills as they come due.

Q: How long will my order take to process?
A: Your first order with iCanRx.com can take up to 3 weeks (15 working days) to process once we have received your completed Order Form and valid prescription. Allow up to 1 week for shipping. Refill orders may be processed sooner, but please allow 3 weeks to ensure you receive your medications when required.

Q: What can slow down the process of my order?
A: At iCanRx.com, our goal is to get your medications processed within 1 week, plus shipping time. Sometimes, this process can be slowed down slightly if:

A) There are delays in receiving a copy of the prescription from you or your doctor, and we have to contact your doctor or pharmacy to get a copy of the prescription.

B) The Order Form is inaccurate or incomplete. Your order will be processed faster if you complete and fax the Patient Information Form as soon as possible.

Q: How does the quality of Canadian drugs compare to those in the U.S.?
A: The Canadian government has very strict requirements for the manufacturing of drugs, which meet or exceed FDA drug safety standards. Some of the drugs sold in Canada are actually manufactured in the US and are repackaged for sale in Canada. Generic medications are all manufactured in Canada under the Canadian Health authority' (Health Canada) stringent requirements. Canada's health system is known to be among the best in the world.

A: These are trade or brand names registered by the manufacturer. Manufacturers will often use different trade names in different countries. However, even though they may look different or have a different trade name, the medications will have the same active ingredients.

Q: Why are prescription drugs in Canada cheaper?
A: Canada is known for its quality health care system and Canadian drug suppliers follow the same high standards and regulations as their American counterparts. The only difference between American and Canadian drugs is the price, which is dramatically less. So rest assured that when you order Canadian pharmaceuticals that they are of the same quality found in the US.

Drug prices are cheaper in Canada because:

  1. Canada operates a social health care system therefore the Canadian Government purchases large quantities of prescription drugs from the pharmaceutical industry around the world.

  2. The Canadian Government sets price ceilings on prescription drug prices.

  3. The Canadian dollar historically trades at 30-35% less than the U.S. dollar.

Q: What is the difference between generic drugs and brand name drugs?
A: A generic drug is a medication for which the manufacturer's patent protection has lapsed. As a result of this, other manufacturers are allowed to produce and sell the exact medication at a lower more competitive price. The generic drug is exactly the same medication as the original brand name drug, simply manufactured by another company. Due to strict regulations on the generic drug industry, these drugs must provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand name drug.

Q: Are all generic drugs available for me to purchase?
A: No. Because of differences in the patent laws between the U.S. and Canada, generic versions of certain U.S. brand name drugs that are produced in Canada are not available in the US.
